Birth of the Dasher

Wow, what a whirl-wind Web Directions it was: Awesome people, awesome ideas, and most importantly - awesome shwag.

Web Directions is a conference about Web directions - so naturally it is bursting with new and fascinating ideas. Of course, the most revolutionary idea unleashed upon the eager attendees was to turn a tech logo into an embroidered patch to be sewn on to your favourite jacket or canvas school bag.

…And so it was that hyperdashery was born! Thanks to the vision of the Web Direction's crew, we were able to distribute the elegantly-stitched icons via the cool official Web Directions bag. Amongst the collection of trial-versions, pens, and stickers sat the inaugural (and beautiful) hyperdashery badge!

The embroidered masterpieces extracted many reactions from the punters: confusion, fear, understanding, and finally, childish giggling.

Although we would have liked to have a team of mums on-hand to stitch them on, the back-up plan of safety-pins and conference pass holders proved to be a success (and generated some interest from parties wanting to become hyperdashery badge #2!).

We've had a few post-event emails regarding the availability of the patches - but I'm afraid, as they say, you had to be there. Perhaps eBay?
